Just because I'm not on the road doesn't mean that there isn't work to be done! Local food manufacturing helps the local economy, and is more environmentally responsible, but it needs your help! If we don't support the local manufacturers of such goods as cheese, pickles and peanut butter, they might not be around when we need them most! Watch the Trip for Life to find out why, and how you can help.
This episode was filmed at the Hiller's Market here in Ann Arbor. Hiller's is a great, locally owned supermarket, and they were great working with me on this project. I especially appreciate how they didn't try to force any sort of editorial direction upon the project, and simply gave me the run of the store. All throughout the United States, there are great local markets that deserve our dollars more than the national chains, if only for the good they do for the local economy.
Notice anything different? This is the first episode I have filmed on the excellent DMC-GH2 camera from Panasonic. You might consider this the first episode of season 2, if I was still numbering my episodes.
