duckystatue.jpg
Another little duck statue. This one was taken at a weird angle on the river walk, on a ledge.
-
duckystatue2.jpg
This is the mother and one duckling. The others were spread about on the river walk, like little easter eggs built into the landscape. The statues are in commemoration of a duck and her ducklings that delayed construction of the bridge they are standing on for several weeks, durring the second world war. Apparently, it captivated the town due to a number of photo essays about the ducklings progress, and so helped them cope with the war.

milwaukee grand avenuehdr.jpg
This atrium is in the Shops of Grand Avenue, in the Plankinton arcade. That's him there. It's a lovely downtown mall, built into existing spaces in the 1980's, but it is struggling in the economic downturn. I thought it was very nice.

st. pauls fish house.jpg
The place to eat in Milwaukee, St. Paul's fish house in the public market. Their lobster rolls were better and cheaper than the ones we had in Maine, no joke.
